Message I received today that I would like to share…

Dear Intercessor, As we celebrate this Lord ’s Day, I ask for your prayers today andthen continuing on throughout the next two months as we minister toand through our Winter teams. Our first team, Team Mich/Iowa willarrive at 1:08 PM Eastern time on Monday Jan 18. Pray them throughcustoms for us as you have with so many of our teams. We have chosennot to send meds with this team as we are still working things outhere in Guatemala on the best method without bribes or money beinggiven where we do not know how it is used. However, this team will bebringing much needed supplies, car parts, and the Love of 70 gift bagsmade from children in West MI destined to change lives here inGuatemala. You can follow and thus minister alongside us by going to http://www.paradisebound.organd in the upper righthand corner clicking on the Team MI/Iowa link!!! This precious team is made up of many people new to PBM and thereforethere is certainly some nervousness and unsuredness about travel andhow things will go. Pray them through this day and fully place themin our Father’s lap. Through this may souls come to know HIM thisweek and the two months of teams in front of us…both Guatemalans andteam members alike! Team MI/Iowa will begin by building 5 homes in a brand new location, avillage called Chuaquenun (Chewa-kay-noon) which is a village of only30 families. The decent into their village is one of the steepest andmost difficult we have had to maneuver in years, and we’ll be doing sodaily with teams. Pray for that as we have had much difficulty evengetting the materials onsite, let alone the team members to build. Thursday will be the Dedication day for the 5 homes and families.Pray specifically with us in the afternoon as we dedicate the homesand present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to each family! We will needspecial prayers this day as these 5 homes will be the first ones builtand dedicated in this precious village. Friday will bring us to a tiny village of only 12-15 families in theremote mountains for our first medical clinic/outreach. Pray with usthroughout the afternoon and into the evening as again we have theprivilege of sharing our Lord Jesus Christ with them through medicine, film, preaching, Bibles, and food. Saturday will bring us to yetanother village, this one on the coast, of 82 families. Again theGospel will be shared and I know that through your prayers and theLove, Power, and Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, lives will be savedfor Eternity! Neither of these villages have electricity or flowingwater. Yet when our Lord completes HIS will for them through you andHIS Son, they will be by far richer than most living in wealth. Saturday we will also pickup a Construction team of 5 gentlemen comingto our mission base to begin the welding/fabrication for our secondstory Short TERM Missionary apartments. They will work specificallyat the base, but will be affecting many lives through serving ourLord! It will prove also to be a busy time here as we double up teamsand projects! Sunday, a week from today, the team will have finished ministering tothose they are called to in Guatemala (at least finished for theirweek with us), and I know that our Lord has Sunday evening reservedfor what HE will accomplish in each team members life as we have ourfinal devotion together. Pray with us then, every day for the Love ofJesus Christ to flow in and through us all…lives will never again bethe same! Not now, not for Eternity! May your battle cry be heardtoday and the weeks to come throughout the realms of Glory and shatterthe chains of darkness in the precious name of our Lord JesusChrist!!! HIS servant, dan & heidi and all of us here at Paradise Bound

Thank you soooo much for the prayers… Most of us made it here and we are still waiting for the ones that did not make it on the plane. It is a world away from what I am used to seeing. Our base camp is in the side of a mountain and the roads are very rough. I will try to post some pictures because seeing it is so different. I miss you guys already….

Sleep good Lauren and Nick…I love you too!

    Dear Mom,

Today, at school, I had a good time but I keep thinking about you. I hope you are having a good time. I love you..I miss you. I slept well last night and I woke up good. I have been doing my homework everyday as soon as I get home from school. Aunt Dee says, “I’m doing awesome!” My teacher says, “I need to stop rushing on my work….I got a “D” on “Time for Kid’s Quiz”…sorrrry! I’ll try to do better in the future. Please write back to me.

    Love Lauren

P.S. Hockey tournament starts at school in a week. Miss Kelley, won the button three times in a row. It starts the “National Anthom.” We are going to win it back.

    Lauren and Nick,

I am so glad you are both doing good. I miss you both very much and will see you soon.

The earthquake yesterday hit in the morning so we missed it, but from what I heard it was a pretty good one and it was felt at our base.

Today was amazing, I can’t believe we got as much today as we did. I am hoping that our pictures get posted. We built 5 homes today and the sun was really hot. The people that we are building for are so appreciative and friendly.

I’ll keep this short because a lot of people want to write their families, so I will leave you with one cool thing that happened today. Late afternoon we were really in a cloud, it was very cool.

    Love you guys,

    Mom

    Hi everyone,

I forgot the adapter for my camera so I can’t post my pics. Last night when we got back from building we had a great devotion. Up again early this morning and my legs are killing me. The very steep hills that we climb numerous times a day are really difficult to keep our feet steady. The house we are building for is a widowed father with 3 girls and a little boy. They are so helpful and want to build with us. Today we finished mudding the drywall and got to stucko the walls (what a messy day), we were also able to build on the “porch”. Tomorrow we are going to be painting, finishing the porch and putting on the roof. It is amazing to see how happy and content they are when they have so little. Once our house is finished we will be dedicating the house to the family along with some gifts. The best thing of all will be sharing the gospel with them and bringing them to the LORD. I am also finding myself closer to God and building my own personal relationship with him (something that I feel I was missing in sorts). I feel so blessed that he brought me here to find him.
Love and miss you guys and can’t wait to share more.

Yesterday was sooo amazing. We dedicated our house to our family and each of the family members accepted christ into their hearts. Our home was a widowed father of 6 and it was so great to see what a wonderful father and role model he is to his family. Our day was very exhausting at the dedication of each home we prayed, by surrounding each home while the word of god was shared with them. God is working on my heart to be a better christian in my own life. I can’t describe in words his process in my own heart on this trip…

    Hi everyone,

So glad to hear from you. I spent a half an hour this morning writing you a message and for some reason it didn’t post, then got deleted. I try to check the computer as often as I can. I get so excited when I get to read messages from all of you. I miss and love you all so very much and can’t wait to share the experiences I am having. So a BIG combo meal, huh?? What are you guys doing today?
Tell me more about the tournament. Heading to another village…One of the girls here gives a team blog under the home page. It tells where we are and what we are doing… If you haven’t read through it yet, you will find it interesting…Make sure you read from the bottom up because the most recent is posted first.

    Love you all,
    Angie, Mom

PS. Is there anything you want me to bring back for you???

Yesterday was a long day for us. We didn’t get home until 130 am and the roads were the worst we have been on. The village we did the clinic in was so very different from the village from the day before and I struggled with knowing our purpose for being there. I just hope that God can soften my heart for the feelings I have today. The rest of our journey has been so wonderful and so spiritual that that is what I would rather be focusing on….Today we get to go into an acutal town and buy goods. We are so excited to shop!
